3 discs, more than 2h. What the hell is happening here? I honestly don't get what is written on the cover but this is esoteric as hell, I an unworthy of understand the knowledge of cosmic horrors. Quite difficult to listen to the whole in one go but this is really good. Perfect musicianship, dark, epic and occult black metal

War songs for the demon army of the burning plains and the dark, smoldering canyons. Asthâghul gives us more of his unique other-dimensional blends: overwhelming songs that nonetheless draw you in, punctuated by breaths of synthesized chimes or bells that feel like a sudden gust of air from a clearing in the clouds, before the roiling thunderheads coalesce and descend on you again like a landslide.

Exactement un an après The Telluric Ashes of the Ö Vrth Immemorial Gods sortait Eternity Of Shaog et, comme si Asthâghul se consacrait à une renaissance, exactement un an après ce dernier sort Dy'th Requiem For The Serpent Telepath. La symphonie ("Salhn", "Craânag") est encore plus importante mais n'occulte en rien la brutalité infernale : elle est un œuf qui éclot à l'intérieur d'Esoctrilihum, une forme de vie qui vient compléter un black metal hallucinant ("Eginbaal") et horrifiant ("Xuiotg").

Cinquième sortie de l'oracle du black metal Asthâghul et, allez savoir quelles vapeurs lui inspirent des univers aussi dantesques (certainement pas celles du laurier en tout cas), rien ne l'arrête quand il s'agit de susciter toujours plus de peur et de fascination. Kantele, piano et violons sont réunis avec un black metal psychédélique dans Eternity Of Shaog pour alimenter, dans l'esprit de l'album précédent, une symphonie toxique, dans le but de nous faire franchir des passages spirituels.
